Kid Vanilla Fashion Show

Last saturday the Kiddy Fashion show took place
at the art gallery Leguit that is located in the
red-light district near the river Schelde in Antwerp.
The show was great and I really enjoyed seeing the
collection as a whole. Especially liked the panther
prints and the 'Freddy' (dog) sweater. Would definitely

have liked to stay longer at the afterparty that was held

at Homey's café, nice company (thanks Elin :), interesting

crowd and good music but my last bus towards home

left early..

Married to the Mob Spring 2010

'For their second spring collection of 2010,

Married to the Mob wanted to evoke visions of

a lustful yet commanding woman maintaining a

fine balance between a life that's both scandalous

and refined. The photo shoot which took place

in NYC's luxurious Gramercy Hotel starred MOB

poster girl Sarah "Sweet 16" McSweeney and her

older sister - the Head Bitch herself - Leah McSweeney.

Heavy red velvet curtains, rich colors in royal hues,

and family love created the base for a strong

MOB look book.

Kid Vanilla 2010

Antwerp's finest Eva Balg bka Kid Vanilla is

about to release her new collection. After

studying fashion in Hamburg and at the

'modeacademie' in Antwerp she launched her

first collection in 2006. Growing up in Keulen

back in the 80's she gets a lot of her inspiration

from the graffiti artists surrounding her and the

skatescene. Not a patron of seasons she puts

all her efforts in one collection each year.

'For this years collection I asked my friend

Johnny from the Netherlands and my little

brother Sebastian from Germany to join us!

Johnny is a famous B-boy and upcoming graphic

talent who created our new logo and three

KID VANILLA t-shirts! And Sebastian, who's

obsessed with the 90ties designed our two

airbrush inspired prints.'

'We were inspired by my dog Freddy, the

90ties and graffiti of course...

KID VANILLA 2010 is sexy!'

Shan Jiang

Shan Jiang lives and works in Shanghai, in the South-East of China

where he focuses on figurative images to which each viewer can add

their own meaning from their own visual life experience.

He has done work for different company's including the

Jordan x Levi's pack from 2008

Last year he showed his incredible work at Avenue and this print has

since then been making me smile everytime I walk by it in my

MTTM Spring Collection 2010

Like Fluff

Had a good time at the Nike Sb x Fluff Book Launch, the book

and the photo's were excellent, lot's of people and the beer was

flowing! The Fluff x Nike Zoom Bruin SB sold out quickly

on Saturday morning. See the rest of the photos on facebook.

The Fluff x Nike SB expo and book launch is coming to Antwerp.

This Friday evening 19 -23h at Lockwood. The Nike SB Zoom Bruin

will be released on Saturday 11 am. Apparently only 12 pairs will

be available and you also get a free book with your purchase.

In Barcelona and Rotterdam they were sold out immediatly,

it will definetly be interesting to see how Antwerp will respond.

Last week I went to see Avatar in 3D and it was an amazing

experience. Appart from the fact that the 3D glasses hurt

a bit and you feel kind of silly wearing them it felt like

you were actually 'in' the movie. Having been a fantasy/

science fiction nerd forever this was THE movie of a lifetime

for me. So, it also happens that this really talented guy I

used to go to artschool with Pelle Tingström works for

Weta Digital the primary visual effects vendor on the film.
